What about the rain...?

Inspired from the movie "Facing the Giants," the character Mr. Bridges, a prayer warrior, comes to the school to pray for the students.  He comes into Coach Taylor's office to deliver a message to him.  Coach Taylor then went on and told Mr. Bridges that he was doubting what God was doing in his life...

I began to wonder "where" in the Bible does it say
"Prepare your fields for rain"?

What about the reference?

I have found no direct reference to the example used in the movie. Several reference I have found:

First in 1st Kings 18:41:
Elijah says to Ahab, "Go, eat and drink,
for there is the sound of a heavy rain."

Second in II Corinthians 5:7
"We Walk By Faith, Not By Sight."

James 2:17-18;
Mark 11:20;
Hebrews 11

What does it really mean to prepare your fields for rain?

It means faith.  Not just "having faith" but acting on it.  Faith requires action, it doesn't stop activity - it inspires it.  If you trust God, your life and actions demonstrate that you depend on Him and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt the He will reward you.

What do you plan to receive?

What ever your circumstance, what ever your story, what ever your walk, what ever your testimony... You have to have faith to believe that what ever it is; what ever you want, what ever you want to achieve, you have to believe and have faith to believe that what you need, God will supply.

As with Mr. Bridges story about the 2 farmers, so it is with us, in anything we do.  If we are going to start a business, we have to prepare for success.  If we are going to participate in sports, we have to prepare to achieve. If we are going to do anything and accomplish anything, we have to have a way, a goal, to achieve our desired result.

Not one starts a business to not succeed.  No one participates in sports to lose.  No one sets out to fail.  If we do not set ourselves on the path to success, will success be an accident, or will success be what you planned to receive?

One of my first jobs that I had while I was in high school, I was working in a men's clothing store in my hometown. My boss and the owner of the store, Myron Baum, said to me and said to many people, "If you fail to plan, plan to fail."

How will your life demonstrate that you prepared for rain?
